Welcome to the Nurse's Station
School Nurse, Mrs. Maloney

Is My Child Sick Enough to Stay Home?

WELCOME SPRING !!!!!! This is the time of year when the children will be out on the playground again. I encourage you to discuss playground SAFETY, and stress how they can help prevent accidents. Please remember that sandals ARE NOT allowed as footwear on the playground.

Students entering kindergarten, second and fourth grades in September will need a physical. Please check with your doctor to see if new kindergarten students need any further shots before September gets here. Call me with any questions at 453-0272.

5th grade students- I have already sent home with an earlier report card information on the newly required TDap shot . ALL 6th grade students need this, once they turn 11 yrs. old. Please call your doctor to arrange for this immunization.

Remember: Sneakers must be worn in gym class a well as on the playground at recess time.
Thanks for your cooperation!

Helpful Hint: You may want  to keep a bag with a dry pair of socks in your child's backpack.

If you suspect your child is sick please keep them home. Make plans now for someone to care for your child if they become sick later in the school year.

Please, Please - If your child has come home with clothing, sneakers or socks from the nurse, we need these items back. Please check and see if you have any of these at home, and send them to the nurse's office. Thank you!

Immunizations and Physicals!! Student physical requirements have been changed by New York State. For the Fall, 2012 - Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th level students will need a physical. First and third will no longer need exams done for those years.

Attention 6th Grade Students: All students entering 6th grade are required by law to have a TDAP shot by their 11th birthday. I have sent letters home explaining this. Please call your healthcare provider to make an appointment.
